Here are some compelling numbers from our 2011 12 Hour race in Sepang: - 36c air temperature
- 100% humidity
- 63c track temperature
- 60c air intake temperature
- 4 x 1 Hour driving stints
How did I feel after all this? FANTASTIC!
We used the standard Club cool suit pack for the entire race and it virtually eliminated the effects of the oppressive heat. I felt sharper, clearer, less stressed and able to make decsions quickly. These suits are almost like cheating, the competitive advantage is so great! $799.00 plus GST
GT Spec:
Fully self contained, hangs from the roll cage, 1.5 hours of cooling. As used by Radical Australia, Peter O'Donnell and MoComm team drivers. All the advantages of the big units, but it takes up no room and doesn't need to be wired. Perfect for small spaces or if you simply value convenience. $899.00 plus GST
After a stint, I used the Elite Vest which is a lightweight garment with 4 packets of Cool Pax which are kept in the esky or fridge.
- The Cool Pax are made from Phase Change Material (PCM), self regulate to a temperature of 14 degrees C.
- They are 30% lighter than water
- Freeze at 14C, making it useable throughout the whole day by recharging in ice water instead of a freezer!
- These vests regulate your body temperature to a comfortable level and I was able to recover in the hot pits.
- Complete with 4 Cool Pax $265.00 plus GST
